Is Ibuprofen safe to use for pain with the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic?
There is presently a health debate regarding the use of ibuprofen with the current COVID 19 pandemic. There have been reports that taking ibuprofen can make a coronavirus infection worst. The World Health Organization (WHO) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have disputed these claims. The WHO “does not recommend against the use of ibuprofen”. The FDA is “not aware of scientific evidence connecting the use of NSAIDs, like ibuprofen, with worsening COVID-19 symptoms”.
The NIH National Institute for Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) has echoed these assessments. In a March 18th interview, Dr. Anthony Fauci stated “he has not seen any firm data to indicate that there is a problem or prove that there is not a problem.”
At this time, the WHO, FDA, NIAID and other scientific organizations are investigating these concerns. It is recommended that you confer with your medical doctor as well as your dentist as to which pain relief medicine is best for you.
