- The best way to protect yourself and avoid getting exposed to the corona virus is to:
- Stay at home as much as possible
- Avoid close contact with anyone who is sick
- Maintain distance between yourself and others (at least 6 feet)
- Remember that people without symptoms can spread the virus
- The Coronavirus is thought to be spread primarily from person to person
- Wear a cloth mask when out in public
- Maintain good hand hygiene
- When to wash your hands:
- After you have been in a public place
- After blowing your nose
- After coughing or sneezing
- If using soap and water (hot or cold), wash for a minimum of 20 seconds
- Hand sanitizer (at least 60% alcohol content) is an acceptable alternative. Make sure that all surfaces of your hands, fingers have been rubbed together until they feel dry.
- Do not touch your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Frequently touched surfaces should be cleaned and disinfected daily—-doorknobs; light switches; countertops; phones; desks; tables; keyboards; sinks; faucets and toilets
- Clean dirty surfaces
- Prior to disinfection, use soap and water or detergent to clean.
- Use a household disinfectant (EPA registered household disinfectant is acceptable)
